Guillermo del Toro chose five classics included in the TCM program in October
Known for The Shape of Water (2017) and Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), Guillermo del Toro named his four favorite films that were included in the programming of TCM, a channel dedicated to classic films, in October. To the IndieWire (via NME), added comments to the nominations. Check out:
Suspicion (1941)
Suspicion It’s one of my favorite films Hitchcock. One of the many features of suspense is ‘not knowing’. The other, in fact, is hope. They go together. And not knowing is the moral of this story.
Monsters (1932)
This is not an easy film to watch, but it is rewarding to watch, and in my opinion, it is a complete masterpiece.
Jane Eyre (1943)
The perfect adaptation of a classic.
This is, in my opinion, Robert Stevenson’s best film.
The Living Dead (1943)
I’m attracted to the velvety beauty of light and shadow that the perfect gothic romance must have.
The Three Masks of Terror (1963)
Mario Bava could make a film look big, elegant and beautiful on a low budget. And he could do it in black and white, as he proved time and time again.
