This Thursday, the CBF published the audio of the VAR analysis of Adryelson’s red card in the match between Palmeiras and Botafogo, in the 31st round of the Brasileirão. In the duel, Verdão won 4-3 and ignited the dispute for the points tournament title once and for all.
In the 25th minute, the defender was sent off after committing a foul on Breno Lopes and preventing a clear and clear scoring opportunity according to VAR manager Rafael Traci (VAR-Fifa-SC) and referee Braulio da Silva Machado (Fifa-SC).
At the time, Bráulio punished Adryelson with a yellow card, but, with the video referee’s call, he changed his view and chose to apply the red.
“For me he has the configuration of four elements: he has direction, he has ball possession, he has no defenders and he has no control,” Traci explained for the VAR call.
“Perfect, he disagrees. I simply didn’t have a clear direction, which is now clear to me. He hits and then holds. The player (Breno Lopes) also has the possibility of passing”, concluded the Santa Catarina judge after having brought by the video referee.
With the triumph, Palmeiras reduced the gap to three points from Botafogo, who have a matchday in hand. In the next round, Verdão will face Atletico-PR this Saturday, at 9.30pm (Brasilia time), at Arena Barueri. Alvinegro will face Vasco this Monday at 7pm in São Januário.
