Superman and Lois soon bow down. The CW recently announced that Season 4 of the Tyler Hoechlin-Elisabeth Tulloch-helmed series, which will consist of just 10 episodes, will be its last. This should be broadcast on the American channel in 2024. A stop that marks the end of an era of DC Comics on the CW.
“Over the last three seasons, Superman & Lois has redefined both the superhero and family drama genres, with Tyler, Elizabeth and the entire cast easily portraying these iconic characters, given depth and complexity more than could be done in Superman before. the world” said Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment at The CW.
“We are grateful to the show’s writers, producers, cast and crew, as well as our wonderful partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions, for years of hard work and their careful scripts.”

The fate of Superman & Lois has been in limbo for months now. When the Season 4 renewal of the series was announced last June, James Gunn and Peter Safran, the presidents of DC Studios, already announced that they were going to offer even more.One or two seasons” to fiction.
But DC Comics fans knew that the arrival of Superman: Legacy, which will see a new actor slip into the Man of Steel suit, would most likely end Superman & Lois. Gunn and Safran wanted the new DC projects to be connected, it was practically impossible for two supermen to coexist in the same universe.
Superman & Lois also saw a big budget cut when it was renewed for an extra season, costing the CW a lot of money for the series’ many special effects.
Thus, the seven main cast members will not be returning for Season 4. Dylan Walsh (General Sam Lane), Emmanuelle Crick (Lana Lang), Eric Valdez (Kyle Cushing, Lana’s ex-husband), Inde Navarrete (Sarah, Kyle’s daughter and Lana), Vol Parks (John Henry Irons), Taylor Buck (Natalie) and Sofia Hasmik (Chris Beppo) left Superman & Lois at the end of Season 3.
Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Michael Bishop and Alex Garfin will return. For his part, Michael Cudlitz, who joined Superman & Lois in Season 3 to play Lex Luthor, has been promoted to regular for this new round of episodes.
