Globoplay has released a video to celebrate the start of the second season recordings of “As Five”. The preview shows the behind the scenes of the beginning of the works.
The recordings reveal scenes on the coast of São Paulo, which must be particularly cold at this time of year. The production will also record scenes in the expanded downtown São Paulo, including Avenida Paulista, Rua Augusta and the neighborhood of Liberdade.
According to the official release of Globoplay, the new episodes will address issues such as social inequality, racism, sexual orientation and religion, through the challenges faced by the five friends of the title: Benê (Daphne Bozaski), Ellen (Heslaine Vieira), Keyla (Gabriela Medvedovski), Lica (Manoela Aliperti) and Tina (Ana Hikari).
“The plot develops from the conflicts characteristic of the new phase of the protagonists. Issues such as uncertainties about professional life and the learning that derives from the experiences of young people added to the experiences of today are outlined”, reads the statement.
The youth series developed by Cao Hamburger is derived from “Malhação: Viva a Diferença”, an Emmy Kids International award-winning attraction. But the themes are much more adult, showing what happened to the “Five”, the five protagonists of the original story, after each took a different course at the end of the story that aired between 2017 and 2018 – and recently reprized in Globe network.
The series is written by Luna Grimberg, Maiara de Paula and Maíra Motta, with Vitor Brandt, Íris Junges, Thays Berbe and Thais Fujinaga, has the artistic direction of Fabrício Mamberti and the general direction of Dainara Toffoli.
