Brazil achieved its best performance in the history of the Pan American Games, this Friday (03). With the rhythmic gymnastics team title, the country achieved its 55th gold medal in Santiago, surpassing the Lima-2019 milestone of 54.
Rhythmic gymnastics, among other things, was fundamental to this record: the modality obtained five gold medals, including two collective and three individual. At the end of the day, Marlene Ewellyn gave the 56th gold medal, thanks to the victory in the women’s 400 m hurdles. Brazil therefore remains firmly in second place in the overall medal table, ahead of Mexico and Canada, with 42 and 40 respectively.
The United States leads comfortably, with 100 golds.
