Find out how much Fluminense earned with their unprecedented Copa Libertadores title

A historic campaign destined to remain forever in the fans’ memory. This was Fluminense’s trajectory in the 2023 Copa Libertadores, culminating in the unprecedented title against Boca Juniors, at the Maracanã. On the pitch the team showed its fruits, but it also brought fruits off the pitch. In this sense, Tricolor raised 27.15 million dollars (about 136 million reais) during the competition. Before the decision, the Rio club already had a total of $9.15 million (approximately R$45.34 million) from the amounts received from the other stages.

In this way, the Tricolor had a larger prize pool than the winner of the last edition of the tournament, rival Flamengo. Last season, Rubro-Negro defeated Atletico-PR, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and ended up with $24 million (R$115 million at the time).

This change in values is due to Conmebol, which increased the prize values in its competitions at the beginning of the season. Therefore, the Copa Libertadores had a bonus increase of 21%. The total distributed among all teams equates to $207.8 million (R$1.09 billion).

The Rio team has secured a place in this season’s Club World Cup, which will be the last with the current format, in force since 2005. Furthermore, it will also be present in the 2025 edition of the competition, which will see the participation of 32 participants, including Fluminense, Flamengo and Palmeiras, respectively the last three winners of the Copa Libertadores.
