Corinthians lost to RB Bragantino 1-0, this Sunday (5), at the Nabi Abi Chedid stadium, in the 32nd round of the Brazilian championship. After the match, coach Mano Menezes admitted that his team played a match far below expectations and that he never knew how to deal with the opponent.
“We didn’t play well in the first half, we had a lot of difficulties, the opponent imposed the game. We knew how difficult it was, we neutralized it and didn’t give us many opportunities to reach the area. We scored the goal with a very happy ball , a beautiful shot, but we were careless about putting pressure on ourselves, this created further difficulties, the match required more physical competition, more imposition before trying to play, and we lost much of the controversy”, said Mano, who continued.
“When a team is unable to come back by playing, because the opponent puts you in difficulty, you have to have another solution and we have never found it. Partly due to the characteristics of our players and others because we were far from finding solutions to improve”.
Finally, the coach believes that Bragantino’s style of play caused Timão difficulties in the first phase. Furthermore, Mano admitted that Massa Bruta deserved the victory.
“There are factors that bring the game to a point that we need to know how to understand, and I think we were a little bit away from that, except in the last part, where we struggled, we tried to somehow make a stronger game with two players on the limit, cross, to try to equalize the match, but it wasn’t enough. The result was fair, Bragantino was better than us and deserved the victory”, concluded the coach.
