Jean Dujardin in Zorro: Which other actors are in the cast of the France 2 series?

Zoro is soon ready to put on his costume. Since the announcement of a new series in the fall of 2022 in the universe of Johnston McCully’s legendary character, little information has filtered out, except that the masked hero will be played by Jean Dujardin and that there will be a series. For France Télévisions.

Now we know a little more. Indeed, according to the information of our colleagues satellites, the casting of the series, which will begin filming this week in Spain and continue until next spring, is finally known. Thus, Jean Dujardin will be reunited with Grégoire Gadebois (Angel and Tony, Waiting for Bojangles), with whom he shared a poster in the film The Presidents (2021) and who will here play the character of Bernardo, Zorro’s loyal mute servant. Francois Damian plays Sergeant Garcia, Andre Dusollier plays Zorro’s father, and Audrey Dana plays Don Diego de la Vega, aka Zorro’s lover.

It is scheduled to air in 2024 and also on Paramount+

However, according to Satellifacts, France 2 has signed a deal with Paramount+ for the occasion, presumably to air the series internationally on France 2 before or after. This is not the first time that the public service has entered into this type of partnership with the American streaming platform, which will be launched in France in December 2022. The mini-series Tout pour Agnès, expected on France 2 in 2024, will be offered on Paramount+ from December 1.

The series, consisting of eight 52-minute episodes, is expected by Christmas 2024, Manuel Alduy, director of film and digital and international fiction at France Télévisions, said last June. Public service viewers will then find a character they already know very well: the first adaptation of Zorro in the series (broadcast from 1957 to 1961) accompanied France 3 on Saturday and Sunday evenings from 2008 to 2019. More broadly, it should be 2024. Zorro as a Spanish series is also expected next year and should be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
