The Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) has scheduled the hearing on the case of the lights out at Nilton Santos, in the match between Botafogo and Atletico-PR. The match took place on Saturday 21 October. The event saw at least four power outages before the break. The scenario caused the ball to stop rolling. On Sunday (22nd) the duel ended, with the second half ending 1-1, the score from the previous day.
The body will hold the hearing next Thursday (9), and the IV Disciplinary Commission will be responsible for pronouncing the sentence. The club was reported under article 191, point III of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD) for failing to comply with or hindering compliance with the rules. The sanction includes a fine of R$ 100 to R$ 100 thousand.
In fact, on the same day as the STJD trial, Botafogo entered the field against Grêmio, but not Nilton Santos. The ball rolls in São Januário, at 8pm, for the 33rd day of the Brazilian Championship, a tournament in which Alvinegro is going through a terrible moment. They are four games without a win and come from three consecutive defeats against Cuiabá, Palmeiras and Vasco. Depending on the results, he could still lose the lead before the weekend.
Coach Lucio Flavio, among other things, will not have his top scorer available. After all, Tiquinho Soares received the third yellow card and, therefore, misses the Cariocas. Although Janderson runs on the outside, Diego Costa tends to be the substitute in attack. In defense, however, Adryelson and Víctor Cuesta return, as well as Marlon Freitas, in the middle.
