Delayed multiple times and still without a release date, it’s hard to understand why Warners has so many doubts about this film.
Throughout his career Stephen King, many novels have been turned into films or TV series, some even both. That’s it Salem’s Lotwhich first became an excellent miniseries of Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) in 1979, The Vampires of Salemand in 2004 there was another reputable television version directed by Michael Solomon (Storm), The Marsten Palace.
For the third time it was time for the big screen, or so we thought, as studio Warner appears to be delaying the theatrical release.
A MISTERY
The adaptation written and directed by Gary Daubermann (Annabelle 3: Homecoming) was originally supposed to be released in theaters in September 2022, but Warner postponed its release to April 2023, due to pandemic-related complications during the post-production process.
However, many months before this happened, the studio removed Salem’s Lot from its release schedule and we haven’t heard anything since. At CinemaCon 2022, a trailer was shown that left good first impressions, but then there was no advertising.

Additionally, Warners did at least a few test screenings that were fairly positively received, but that wasn’t enough to find a place on the release calendar.
