Astrid and Raphael return this Friday, November 10 on France 2 for Season 4, eagerly awaited by fans of the detective series, who will be delighted to find Astrid, Raphael and all the other members of the team in new investigations that are always unusual.
If Sarah Mortensen, Lola Dewey, Michel Benoit (Nicolas), Kengo Saito (Tetsuo) will be in these new episodes, there is a cast that is missing.
Meledin Yakub, who has been playing Lt. Arthur Engulen since Astrid and Raphael launched, is effectively absent from Season 4. A surprising departure that the producers and authors of the detective series wanted.
“It was a desire to write, a desire to renew myself“- said producer Jean-Sebastien Bouillot during a press conference organized to promote the new season. “We needed to tweak one of the series’ settings to give it a boost.“
Thus, this reinforcement is followed by the removal of the main characters of Astrid and Rafael and the arrival of Nora, a new recruit, Sophia Yamna, who disrupts the life of the brigade.
“We needed a new character” explained Alexandre de Seguins, screenwriter and creator. “We didn’t necessarily need to leave, we mostly wanted to arrive, which could play a small role in this year’s arches. The character of the lieutenant, as he was originally conceived, had comparatively little roughness. He was a character that was mostly functional.“
“So instead of changing Arthur overnight, we thought it was more consistent to introduce a new character to the brigade. So we had an idea for Nora’s character, which is certainly secondary, but with more personality and rawness. He is the linchpin of many plots and takes part in various arcs.“
The new addition of Astrid and Raphael, which allows you to take part in the renewal of the 4th season of the detective series, which arrives this Friday, November 10, from 21:10 on France 2.
