The laziest and greediest cat is back in cinema! 19 years after Garfield, the film and its sequel Garfield 2, released in 2007, which mixed animation and live action, the red cat returned to the cinema in a 100% animated film.
Directed by Mark Dindall, director of Chicken Little and Kuzco, the Megalomaniac Emperor, the feature film goes back to when Garfield and Johnny met when the cat was still a kitten. If Odie the dog is clearly there, Garfield: Hero in Spite will allow us to discover the hero’s father!
On the original voice side, Chris Pratt, most recently in the voice casting for Super Mario Bros., voices Garfield, and Samuel L. Jackson voices Vic, his big cat, as his father.
It was first published in 1978 comics In 41 newspapers, the adventures of this cynical cat were adapted for the small and big screen. The previous films, released in 2004 and 2007, grossed $346 million at the international box office and brought 2.5 million viewers to French cinemas.
Garfield: Heroes Regardless hits theaters on July 17, 2024.
