Halloween is the perfect excuse to scare yourself in front of a scary movie or series, but there is such a choice of programs that it would be a shame to limit yourself to just one evening a year. Thriller lovers, if you’re looking for a little novelty to get your teeth into, Paramount+ has just what you need: the thriller Les Incandescentes!
It is in the disturbing village of Chapel Croft, a place marked by a funeral and a turbulent past, that the story of this disturbing series unfolds in 6 episodes. Reverend Jack Brooks and his daughter Flo move there in hopes of a fresh start, but quickly discover that the town is haunted…
In 1556, several villagers, including two little girls, were burned alive at the stake. 30 years before Jack’s arrival, two teenage girls mysteriously disappear without a trace. And just a few weeks before the installation, the pastor killed himself in the chapel. What if everything is connected?
Between nightmarish visions, sickly wooden figures and superstitions, everything suggests that Chapel Croft will be the scene of a terrible tragedy again very soon, especially the appearance of the famous “incandescents”, a very bad omen. This happens without taking into account the hostility of influential families in the community, who do not look favorably on the arrival of these new residents…
A series of suspensions!
Adapted from CJ Tudor’s novel of the same name, the British series Les Incandescentes will plunge viewers into a dark and extremely mysterious atmosphere, where the heroine and even her daughter seem to be hiding a troubled past… enough to satisfy those who love her. I was shocked to see their screen!
On the casting side, Jack Brooks will be played by Samantha Morton, a two-time Oscar nominee for her roles in In America and Accords et Disaccords and who has also previously distinguished herself on the small screen in The Serpent Queen and The Walking Dead.

She stars opposite Ruby Stokes, who viewers recently saw in The Bridgerton Chronicles as one of the family’s younger sisters, Francesca. The two actors are joined by Paul Bradley (EastEnders), Conrad Khan (Peaky Blinders), David Dawson (My Cop), Elodie Grace Orkin (Stranger Things) and Jane LaPotter (The Crown).
If you’re looking for a series to stop before it ends, don’t miss Incandescentes, available in its entirety on the Paramount+ platform!
