A new free game will soon arrive on PC to challenge Fortnite. Regard Hawkeda free-to-play title from developer My Games that will be launched in Early Access on November 30th on Steam.

It is undeniable that the look of the game is reminiscent of Fortnite, with its graphics full of colors and chel shading filters. However, be careful: the Hawked’s gameplay is very different from Battle Royale from Epic Games.

Striking gameplay

Although Hawked’s graphics are reminiscent of Fortnite, the game has significant differences in gameplay. The new free title coming to Steam takes place on an open map with exploration, puzzles, and mining mechanics.

Featuring combat against other players and even NPCs, the game asks the player to explore the map in search of relics and then leave safely. In other words, the basis of the game revolves around extraction gameplay with PvP and PvE battles, against the players and the environment.

Upon arriving on Island-X, where the game takes place, the player must collect weapons and search for points of interest that contain puzzles, fights, or challenges. When you decipher them, you get a symbol as a reward.

After discovering all the necessary symbols, the player must go to a temple to finally save the game’s great treasure. When you explore the location and survive its threats, you need to collect the special item and go to an extraction point to emerge victorious.

Bring solo games or with teams of up to three people, the game stands out for its dynamism. More than just shooting, Hawked has fun by encouraging exploration of the map and introducing different elements into the gameplay, such as puzzle solving.

The storage space is also not very large: the game only requires 15 GB to install on the PC. The only configuration that may catch players by surprise is the memory, as the game requires 12GB of RAM as its minimum specs.

Here we tested the game on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 and an Intel Core i9-13900K CPU, with 32GB of Kingstom Fury Beast DDR5 RAM. Even with the game in Early Access, the experience remained stable, with the title running at 4K and over 60 frames per second.

Apart from a few bugs, which will surely be fixed over time, the experience with Hawked was very promising. The game’s mix of elements makes its gameplay very interesting for those who love shooting games, but are looking for something more than just “exchanging” bullets.

Hawked is scheduled for release on November 30th on PC, in early access. In the future, the game will also receive versions for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
