TF1 strongly believes in this. As we told you recently, the channel started filming the next event series called Cat’s Eyes on October 19. Please note that this is an adaptation live action (ie live) from the iconic Japanese cartoon of the same name broadcast in the 1980s.
Cat’s Eyes initially tells the story of three sisters, Tamara, Alexia and Silia, who run a cafe together. At least during the day. Because at night they become terrible thieves who are only trying to recover the works that belonged to their father, a German artist who disappeared without a trace during the Second World War.
Tamara, Alexia and Silia hope to find him by collecting his entire collection.
The series, consisting of eight 52-minute episodes, is expected to air in autumn 2024, first on TF1, then internationally on US streaming platform Amazon Prime Video, following a partnership with the channel.
At least 3 seasons of Cat’s Eyes are planned!
Fans of Tsukasa Hōjō’s original manga will have to wait until they can discover the series, which officially made its comeback last spring.
Nevertheless, their wait should be rewarded: according to our colleague TV 7 daysThe three main actors, Constance Labbe, Camille Lou and Claire Romain, have not signed on for not one, not two, but three seasons!
Proof that TF1 isn’t taking this adaptation lightly… and that it wants to make it as profitable as possible given its considerable cost.
“It’s definitely going to be one of the most expensive series we’re going to release next year with a very big production budget. But we have to be able to do justice to this franchise, which is very prestigious.”Last June, Ara Afrikian, TF1 Group’s Deputy General Director of Content, assured our colleague Western France.
“Extraordinary decor, exceptional conditions… In fact, everything around is expensive– says Madi Sabari, co-producer of Cat’s Eyes with Télé 7 Jours. Shooting in an empty, unlit Eiffel Tower is not very interesting. So we had to come with 200 extra and as many cameras and technicians. That’s what makes this shoot so special.”.
Spectacular scenes that we will have time to appreciate.
