Actor plays composer Leonard Bernstein in new Netflix film
Bradley Cooper explained the controversial prosthesis used to live Leonard Bernstein in his new feature, Conductor, which premieres on Netflix soon. In an interview, the actor, who also directs the film, stated that he thought about recording without using the prop, as he considered his nose very similar to the composer’s, but “it didn’t seem right”.
“I thought, ‘Maybe we don’t need to do this because it would save some time on prep. But it’s all about balance and, you know, my lips are nothing like Lenny’s, and neither is my chin.”explained the actor in an interview with CBS Mornings [via Variety].
“So we had this [a prótese] and it didn’t feel right [sem ela]. We had to do it, otherwise I just wouldn’t believe he’s a human being.”completed Cooper.
