Netflix: Find out what a TV series based on one of Guy Ritchie’s best movies will be like!

Who still remembers the Rupert Grint TV series Snatch, inspired by the Guy Ritchie film of the same name? If the first TV adaptation of the English director’s feature film was not a real success, we can still bet that the second one will be even more successful.

Netflix will soon air the TV series Gentlemen, a sequel to Guy Ritchie’s film of the same name in 2020. This detective comedy, which takes place in the world of drug cartels in London, includes an impressive cast, including Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell or even Hugh Grant.

The Netflix series will be a sequel to the film, which will see Theo James (The Divergent Saga) lend his qualities to Eddie Horniman, a young man who inherits land from his aristocratic father, home to Europe’s largest marijuana farm. Immersed against his will in the ruthless world of drug trafficking, Eddie fights to keep what is rightfully his.

The first official photos released by Netflix:

None of the actors from the film appear in the series. Thus, the program brings together a completely new cast consisting of Giancarlo Esposito, Joel Richardson, Kaya Scodelario and former footballer Vinnie Jones, who has appeared in most of Guy Ritchie’s films. The executive producer of the project, the latter will also be the director of the first two episodes.

The currently-undateable series The Gentlemen will air exclusively on Netflix soon.
