The Nightmare Before Christmas: Why doesn’t Tim Burton want a sequel or reboot of the film?

The classic animation created by Tim Burton was released in 1993

After 30 years of launching Jack’s wierd world (1993), Tim Burton denied any and all speculation about a reboot or sequel to the Christmas and Halloween classic.

In a scenario in which Hollywood is increasingly interested in remakes of successful productions in the past, the director told the magazine Empire his desire to preserve what has been done with the story of Jack Skellington.

For me, the film is very important. I’ve done sequels, remakes and all that, right? But I don’t want that to happen with this film. It’s cool that people might be interested, but I’m not. I feel like that old guy with a little piece of land that he doesn’t want to sell to the big companies that want the land.

A rumor that Disney would be interested in making a live-action sequel is old. However, there was never any confirmation or major details of the supposed project.

Jack’s wierd world accompanies Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, who gets tired of Halloween and ends up crossing the portal to Christmas. Upon returning to Halloween Town, he decides to kidnap Santa Claus and make his own Christmas. The film is directed by Henry Selickwith an original story by Tim Burton and is available in the catalog of Disney+.
