After two months out due to a right ankle injury, striker Vitor Roque is close to saying goodbye to Atletico-PR and making his debut with Barcelona. The Catalan club, among other things, wants to postpone the debut of the 19-year-old to the beginning of January 2024 due to Gavi’s injury. The information comes from the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”. On December 6, Tigrão will play their last match against Furacão.
Roque already has until the date of his debut with Barcelona: January 3, against Las Palmas, in the Spanish championship, away from home. The idea is to relate him to the match and use him for a few minutes to prepare him for his first match in Europe. In a unique duel, on the 11th of the same month, Barça will face Osasuna, in Riyadh (SAU), in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup.
According to Barça’s schedule, the player will travel to Spain on December 20. There he will spend the end of year holidays, get to know the structure of the club, meet his new teammates and get to know the working methods of coach Xavi Hernández. But first you will have two weeks of vacation.
Barcelona announced the signing of Roque in August. The striker signed a contract until 2031. To fulfill the promise of Brazilian football, Barça spent around 74 million euros (R$395 million). The figures include the fixed amount and sports bonuses. The fine imposed on the player, however, attracts even more attention: 500 million euros.
