Adapted from the novel by Matias Edvardsson, this miniseries tells the story of Stella Sandel (Alexandra Karlsson Tyfors), a 19-year-old woman accused of murdering her boyfriend Chris (Kristian Fandango Sandgren) and thrown into prison.
His parents, Adam (Björn Bengtsson) and Ulrika (Lo Kaup), a priest and lawyer respectively and highly respected in Lund’s residential suburban community, are stunned. What happened ? They want to help Stella at any cost, but deep down what do they know about their daughter? and each other? Is he really guilty?
In six episodes, “Almost Normal Family” immerses us in a fascinating investigation of Stella, a young woman with a complicated background, from the very first minutes of the series. It’s impossible not to feel love for this grown man, built on wounds and lies, who finds himself embroiled in a horrific affair beyond his control.
Almost Normal Family is based on a fascinating narrative construction by taking the points of view of father, mother and daughter on shared moments, but also on intimate moments as well as flashbacks to bring together all the crucial elements before a moving and explosive finale.
Be warned, the series deals with difficult topics that may offend some sensitivities, which is why it is not recommended for people under 16.
