During a short trip to Brazil I also managed to see my nephew make his karting debut and meet my parents

Hello Friend how are you? I hope so.
I’m writing this article this Saturday (25th), already here in the United States. I even tried to finish it the day before, before leaving Brazil all the way here, but there wasn’t time. Furthermore, it was not possible to respond to the various invitations I received, including from the press, precisely because of my stay in the vapt-vupt base.
As I said in the last article, my daughter and I arrived in Guarulhos (SP) on Friday (17), and from there we went directly to Belo Horizonte. In Vespasiano (MG), I was able to witness the debut of my nephew Dudes in the CBA Brazilian Kart Championship. On Sunday we were already in Ribeirão Preto.
For a few years now I have been able to book a week, always in November, to spend with my parents in Ribeirão Preto (SP). Even if it’s only a week, I’ll tell you one thing: there’s nothing better than this to recover your energy.
The people who work with me are a little confused right now. While on the one hand it is an opportunity to meet the press and complete a work programme, on the other they are busy trying not to disturb my rest.
Once again, for a change, I couldn’t stay home all week. But this time – and only this time – it wasn’t their fault. I arrived in Brazil knowing that I would have appointments in Sao Paulo on Thursday and Friday (23rd and 24th), which I had booked myself.
In the past, everything I talked about in my lectures was from the pilot’s perspective. Now there is also the commercial side thanks to Meyer Shank Racing. So the approach has become much broader.
“But why are you talking about a conference, Castroneves?”
It’s because one of my commitments, in São Paulo, was a conference on Thursday (23rd). The other commitments followed along the same lines, all very pleasant and positive. Even on these working days it was possible to spend time with family, see friends and have fun.
Now, back home, I’ll get back to my Christmas schedule, so to speak. With Christmas exactly one month away, I will be joining in the celebrations of some of our sponsors and also Meyer Shank Racing.
But, between one celebration and another, we have a lot of work because, in our team, we are already in 2024, a year that will be very important and big news could arrive at any moment. When the time is right, I’ll tell you everything here in the column.
Have a nice week everyone and see you next Friday (I hope so – hehehe)
