The wait continues for the release of the new book in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” saga, which inspired the creation of the “Game of Thrones” series. According to the writer and creator of the story, George RR Martin, “The Winds of Winter” is already more than 1,100 pages, but she hasn’t reached the end yet.
- So far, five books of “A Song of Ice and Fire” have already been released.
- The last one, “Dance of the Dragons“, was published in 2011 and has 824 pages.
- “Game of Thrones” is 600 pages long.
- “A Clash of Kings” has 648 pages, while “A Storm of Swords” has 832 pages and “A Feast for Crows” has 608.
- Therefore, the sixth book will be the biggest of all to date.
- Remembering that the seventh part of the story (“A spring dream“) is already being written.
To the BangCastGeorge RR Martin has stated that he has “hundreds more pages” to write until the sixth book in the saga is completed.

The latest book byA Song of Ice and Fire” was published in 2011. Since then, the author has been working on the continuation of the story, which he promised to deliver, initially, by 2014. He then said that he would release the work in 2021.
In late 2022, George R.R. Martin revealed that he had already completed approximately 1,200 pages and was still 400 to 500 pages away from completing the new book. In October of the same year, the author declared that three-quarters of “The Winds of Winter” were ready. He did not give any kind of deadline for starting the work.
In addition to the last two books of the saga, he worked on eight other “Game of Thrones” spin-offs. Among them, “House of the Dragon,” which tells the story of the Targaryen family from the main series and will premiere its second season next year. George RR Martin said that he will soon start planning the third season of the story.
