A dialogue-free action film from a master of the genre: Finally a release date for John Woo’s next film!

Last October, we were delighted to discover the insane trailer for Silent Night. The feature film has been a bit of a wait since it was announced in October 2021. And if we were impatient, it’s because it marks the return of action master John Woo to Hollywood after 2003’s Salary!

Silent Night is a Christmas movie, but John Woo’s version. In other words, it features a very angry Joel Kinnaman pulling out all the trappings. Revenge movie With explosions, very rough hand-to-hand combat and high damage. Next to him we find Catalina Sandino Moreno and Scott Mescudi, also known by his singer/rapper name Kid Cudi.

And Prime Video is announcing the film will air on its platform on December 29:

This violent revenge story follows an anguished father who watches his young son die when he is caught in a gangland shooting on Christmas Eve. As he recovers from the injury that cost him his voice, he makes revenge his life’s mission and begins to undergo intense training to avenge his son’s death. With no dialogue throughout the film, Silent Night showcases Kinnaman’s acting chops in this muscular family drama.

John Woo made several action films in Hong Kong, including the classic with Chow Yun-Fat, before coming to Hollywood to make thrillers such as Manhunt, Broken Arrow, About-Face and Mission: Impossible 2.
