MP Gilvan from Federal (PL-ES) said that the ministries of Justice and Human Rights are linked to organized crime
The meeting of the Commission for Financial Inspection and Control of the Chamber of Deputies, which heard the Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship, Silvio Almeida, had to end amid discussions and exchanges of accusations this Tuesday 5th, late afternoon, when Bolsonaro’s deputy Gilvan da Federal (PL-ES), without any evidence, accused the Ministries of Human Rights and Justice and Public Security of having links with the Vermelho Command, one of the main criminal groups in the country.
“I don’t see any stance taken by you in defense of the prisoners on January 8, I don’t see any stance taken by you when a police officer is executed by the Red Command, to which the ministries of His Excellency and those of Minister Flávio Dino are linked ”, said the deputy minister, specifying that he will try to establish a parliamentary commission of inquiry to investigate the case.
The speech sparked indignation from rank-and-file deputies and the minister, who responded by calling the deputy a “slanderer” and slapping the table.
“You are slanderous. Slanderer, prove what you said,” Almeida said.
With anger running high, the MP and the minister rose from their chairs and continued to exchange finger-pointing accusations. The unrest led MP Bia Kicis (PL-DF), chair of the commission, to close the hearing.
Deputy Gilvan’s statement is based on an article published by the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo which revealed the presence of the wife of a leader of the Vermelho Command in a meeting at the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. However, there is no evidence or investigation to indicate that members of Lula’s ministries (PT) have ties to the Red Command.
Luciane Barbosa Farias’ trip to the national meeting of the Committees and Mechanisms for the Prevention and Fight against Torture was paid for by the Ministry of Silvio Almeida. The event took place on November 6 and 7. A folder reported this participation of Luciane is due to the nomination of the Amazon state committee, which chose her as the region’s representative and the funds used to pay for the tickets were already allocated for this purpose.
In the position given at the time, the Ministry reported that “neither the minister, nor the secretary, nor anyone from the minister’s office had contact with the candidate or even interfered in the organization of the event in which, we insist, they participated more than 70 people from all over Brazil and which allowed the state committees to freely appoint their representatives”.
