Angelina Jolie will continue to play the iconic Sleeping Beauty villain in the film Maleficent 3 and had already signed the contract with Disney, according to a report Wall Street Journal. The actress has already played the witch in the first two live-action films, in 2014 and 2019.
In a long interview with the actress, the newspaper reveals that Jolie has signed contracts for some films that should be made in the coming years, including Maleficent 3. In recent months there have been rumors that a new film was in development, but without any official confirmation.
According to the publication, Jolie has finished filming Without Blood, an adaptation of the Italian book of the same name that she wrote and directed. It’s still in your diary Mary, by Pablo Larraín, in which she will play the soprano Maria Callas. The launch is scheduled for 2024.
The Wall Street Journal also states that, last year, the actress concluded an international film and television contract with the British company Fremantle. Angelina Jolie will also produce a Broadway show, “The Outsiders,” which will debut in April next year. She discovered this musical version based on SE Hinton’s book thanks to her youngest daughter, Vivienne, who now works as an assistant on the show.
