Created by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, “Explosives” is an action series currently available on Netflix. The series follows a team of US Army experts who, to defend Las Vegas from a terrorist threat, work together to defuse a bomb.
The group then decides to celebrate with a night full of alcohol, drugs and sex. However, in the meantime, they discover that the real bomb is still active and must work to save the day even though they are impaired. If you’re wondering if there will be a second season, we’re here with the answer.
Will Explosives have a second season on Netflix?
From the same creators as the spin-off Kobra Kai – Karate Kid, the first season of Explosives contains eight episodes and debuted on November 30, 2023. The scenes star Nick Zano as Chad, Shelley Hennig as Ava, Eugene Kim as Paul, Kimi Rutledge. as Maya, Paola Lázaro as Angela, C. Thomas Howell as Hagarty and Carl Lumbly as Langdon.
Although the first season ends with the team’s success in their mission to defeat the villains, leaving them only with hangover issues, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the end for the group.
It is not yet known whether the series will be renewed by Netflix, but the creators are already thinking about what would be the ideal locations for a second season. According to Hurwitz, “If there is demand, we are definitely looking for the next city where our team can have another adventure.” Schlossberg added that the action comedy series could have settings such as Ibiza, Miami, Rio or Cabo for the next season.
Critics don’t seem to like the series that much, as it only got a 46% critical approval on Rotten Tomatoes and a 5.7 rating on IMDb. Meanwhile, the audience could demonstrate the desired demand for Hurwitz, as the first season received the approval of 80% of the audience.
However, for “Explosivos” to have a second season, audience and popularity ratings will have to increase in relation to the current situation.
