Flamengo’s preparation for 2024
It is not the first time that Flamengo and Orlando City have met on the pitch. After all, the teams played each other in 2015, marking the club’s 120th anniversary. The American team had Kaká then. The friendly match was played at the Maracanã and ended 1-0 for the Rossoneri.
Flamengo, by the way, also played a pre-season in Orlando in 2019. At the time, the Rossoneri players were coached by Abel Braga and were champions of the Florida Cup after playing against Ajax and Eintracht Frankfurt. The club, therefore, plans to make a similar preparation in 2023, but this time under the leadership of Tite.
“This pre-season in the United States, which also includes matches with the MLS semi-finalists, represents a great opportunity to work on the Flamengo brand in the very important American market, where we will play the 2025 Club World Cup. With the 2026 World Cup and the investments that the country is moving forward, world football has a new point of enormous attention in the United States and Flamengo, like several European giants, is aware of this and will increasingly strengthen its presence in the country, both through the work of social networks aimed at American public, and through live events of the Flamengo brand, like this one in the pre-season,” explained Flamengo’s Vice President of Communications and Marketing, Gustavo Oliveira.
