On Saturday night (09), around 8.40pm, a pedestrian accident occurred at km 230 of BR-116, in the city of Dois Irmãos, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. The accident involved a Ford/KA car with the number plate Novo Hamburgo/RS.
According to the Federal Traffic Police (PRF), the driver of the vehicle, a 72-year-old man, was subjected to a breathalyzer with a result of 0.56 mg/l, constituting the crime of driving while intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the police station.
The victim, a 72-year-old woman, was promptly rescued and taken to the nearest hospital to receive medical treatment.
The roads were opened to traffic after the accident was recorded.
