Tonight on TV: A monumental failure at the movies, this action flick with Gerard Butler lives up to his reputation as a badass

Gerard Butler fans, the night before is made for you as NRJ12 broadcasts Hunter Killer, one of the Hollywood star’s best action movies! Coming anonymously to theaters in late 2019, this spectacular underwater thriller certainly deserves a second chance.

Hunter Killer, created by the producers of the Fast and Furious saga, plunges the audience into the depths of the Arctic Ocean. When Commander Joe Glass, played by Gerard Butler, tries to locate a distressed American submarine, he discovers that Russian terrorists are planning a coup d’état that threatens to topple the world order.

He must now assemble a navy to rescue the hostage-taking Russian president and prevent World War III…

What’s fascinating about Joe Glass is that he has to make decisions that will affect the world for the next hundred years: it’s about the possibility of a real World War III.Gerard Butler is delighted.

The stakes he faces are gigantic, and what happens to him is breathtaking and ultimately very compelling in today’s geopolitical climate.

Adapted from the book firing point Co-written by George Wallace, a seasoned former commander of the nuclear submarine USS Houston, and Don Keith, a multi-award-winning journalist and best-selling author, Hunter the Killer doesn’t just have Gerard Butler.

We also find Please Gary Oldman, Michael Nyqvist (protagonist of the Scandinavian Millennium trilogy) and also the rapper Common.

To achieve authenticity, the film’s filming and production team partnered with the US Navy in nearly every aspect of the film’s design.

“We had the opportunity to spend time on board the submarines and have technical advisors on the Navy set almost constantly, which allowed us to install the latest generation of submarines with the smallest of buttons and dials.”Enjoys producer Toby Jaffe. “We paid attention to every detail, including jargon and orders.”

Note that the Navy also allowed the Hunter Killer team two days of access to a nuclear submarine operating at Pearl Harbor. Only this !
