“Barbie” breaks the record for nominations at the Critics Choice Awards

The film Barbie continue to make history. Greta Gerwig’s film has just broken the nomination record at the Critics Choice Awards. In total, the most famous doll in the world will compete for 18 prizes.

The list of nominees for the 2024 edition of the Critics Choice Awards was revealed this Wednesday (13). The main indications of Barbie are in the categories Best Film, Best Director (Gerwig), Best Actress (Margot Robbie), Best Supporting Actor (Ryan Gosling) and Best Supporting Actress (America Ferrera).

With 18 mentions, the film beat previous record holders for the award: The shape of water AND Everything everywhere at the same timewho competed for 14 awards each in their respective editions.

Behind Barbie appear, in the 2024 list, Oppenheimer AND Poor creatures, with 13 nominations each. Then Flower Moon Assassinsdirected by Martin Scorsese, which received 12 nominations.

The 2024 Critics Choice Awards will take place on January 14 and will be broadcast in Brazil on TNT and HBO Max. Information comes from Omelette.
