ENAC said the pact “consolidates the strong relationship” between the countries
The Italian National Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) signed on Sunday (17) an agreement for the “resumption and implementation” of commercial flights between the European country and Libya.
The pact was signed in the presence of the president of ENAC, Pierluigi Di Palma, and his Libyan counterpart, Mohamed Shlebikf.
“The document consolidates the strong relationship between the two countries, defines the framework for the resumption of commercial air traffic and implements the European clauses in terms of safety, security and recognition of carrier designation, without limitations, and fair competition”, he explained By Palm.
“I share the thoughts of the Italian ambassador in Tripoli, Gianluca Alberini, who recently underlined the importance of the historic presence of Italian companies in Libya”, he added.
The head of ENAC also revealed that the agreement should “open new opportunities for civil aviation”.
The goal of Libyans and Italians is to strengthen their trade relations and bilateral cooperation through the implementation of long-term economic cooperation programs.
In July, Rome and Tripoli returned to a direct commercial air route after a decade of interruption. .
