Argentina president Javier Milei has revealed he is rooting for the club to lose the 2018 Libertadores to River Plate
Elected president of Argentina 28 days ago, Javier Milei was booed this Sunday (17th), in the Boca Juniors elections. It is worth mentioning that the Argentine president is also a member of the most popular club in the neighboring country. Therefore you have the right to vote.
Milei has heard cries of “thief” and much criticism of the names he has chosen to make up his list of ministries. It is also worth mentioning that the president has already given an interview stating that he supported River Plate, including Boca Juniors themselves, in the 2018 Libertadores final.
On social networks, Maurício Macri, former president of Argentina, originally from Boca and supporter of Milei, criticized the position of the Boca Juniors fans.
“What a shame to see images of gentlemen who say they are Boca fans, when in reality they are terribly rude and not very spontaneous, insulting the President of the Republic instead of celebrating that he will vote for the future of our beloved club. What we saw, unfortunately, this is what Boca has been experiencing for four years. I hope for the future of our club that all this ends today and changes once and for all”, commented Macri.
Macri, in fact, is once again running for president of the Xeneizes. He competes with his rival Riquelme, who is seeking re-election. It is also worth mentioning that Milei revealed that he left Boca Juniors precisely because of the signing of the former midfielder in 2013.
“I don’t want to support a team that makes populist decisions. It’s enough to live in a populist country. For me he was a terrible player, one of the biggest lies in Argentine football. So I became anti-Boca”, Milei said in an interview with newspaper “El País” a few years ago.
