Accused American actor Jonathan Majors (Creed III) has been found guilty of third-degree assault (the least serious level for this type of charge), assault causing bodily harm and second-degree harassment following his ex-girlfriend’s trial.
However, Kang’s interpreter at MCU was found not guilty of third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury and not guilty of second-degree aggravated harassment. The latter faces one year of imprisonment. His sentence will be announced on February 6.
What impact does it have on the MCU?
As soon as the jury’s verdict was announced, Marvel announced its decision to part ways with Jonathan Majors. Accordingly, the 34-year-old actor Kang will no longer be in the MCU. A decision carefully considered by the studio, as managers have already discussed the possibility of replacing the actor or replacing Kang with another villain from the Marvel universe.
Jonathan Majors in Ant-Man: Quantumania
According to Variety , Kevin Feige was already considering replacing Jonathan Majors with another actor last November – as he had already done for Iron Man 2, when Don Cheadle took over for Terrence Howard – or replacing Kang with another antagonist from the comics: Doctor Doom, already. Appears in Fantastic 4, which Marvel is preparing to relaunch.
This replacement will affect the entire MCU, as Kang was supposed to be the main antagonist of Phases V and VI. First appearing as Loki in the TV series (Seasons 1 and 2), Kang the Conqueror made his first steps on the big screen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
The villain was supposed to be at the center of Avengers: Kang Dynasty was supposed to hit theaters on April 29, 2026, but the film recently lost director Destine Daniel Cretton. Screenwriter Michael Waldron, who had already worked on Loki, was hired to write Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Will John Boyega replace Jonathan Major?
If John Boyega’s name is suggested by fans after Majors’ firing was announced, there’s a good chance the British actor, who appears in the latest Star Wars trilogy, will agree to work with Disney again.
Last November, when an internet user asked for Kang to reprise his role, Finn’s interpreter responded in the negative by using a gif of Shrek’s donkey…

This is not the first role Jonathan Majors He loses after his arrest on March 25. After the departure of his agent and the withdrawal of his US Army commercials, Major was denied starring roles in The Man in My Basement, Da Understudy by Spike Lee, and Dennis Rodman’s 48 Hours in Vegas. Marvel’s decision remains the most high-profile.
