Here’s where it all starts: “Carla’s adoptive parents will be suspicious of Rose,” warns Arisha Lemer.

After storming into the institute, where she was only friends at first, Carla quickly became preoccupied with upheavals in her personal life, whether it was the discovery of her pregnancy, a natural termination of pregnancy, or even a date. his biological mother.

For Allociné, Arisha Lemaire, Carla’s translator, agreed to tell us a few secrets about her character in This Is Where It All Begins, which will be broadcast from Monday to Friday at 18:30 on TF1.

Allocine: From the beginning of the school year, we are introduced to Carla, a young woman who disrupts both the institute and the community here, it all starts with her pure character.

What do you like or dislike about this character? Do you have anything in common with Carla?

Aaricia Lemaire: Carla is definitely different from me, but that’s exactly what I like about her. He says things that I would never dare to say in my life. He responds to teachers in ways I never would have dared. I love this awkward side that I would never allow myself to have. I know it’s very disruptive, but that’s why I especially love to protect it. He certainly has a bit of a malicious side to him, but to me he’s not fundamentally evil. It is primarily a shell, behind which many things are hidden.

Carla had a tumultuous arrival at the institute, between the discovery of her pregnancy and a miscarriage. Was this game difficult for you?

Yes, especially. Actually, it was quite fun for me at first because I was playing without the prosthesis. We knew Carla was pregnant, but that was it. And then, little by little, I had to carry a little stomach, but also a little bit at chest level. My silhouette, my posture, my walk was different. Since then it has affected the game, the change in his body has been very disturbing. I have never experienced pregnancy or miscarriage so I did a lot of research beforehand. In the end, I experienced the moment so intensely that when it all stopped, even for me as an actor, it was pretty rough.

In a recent episode, Rose has this heated exchange (Vanessa DeMoy) and Carla where you say that we sometimes prefer to talk about natural termination of pregnancy rather than miscarriage because the pregnancy is not over and nothing happened.

So can we imagine this pregnancy haunting Carla? What will allow Carla to bounce back from this ordeal?

We just saw Carla already trying to make a comeback as Anais (Julie Sasost) and Salome (Aurelie Pons) suggested she join the Christmas Brigade to take her mind off of Rose and get her closer. . Without giving too much away, her pregnancy and miscarriage is something that will stick with her for a while. If the pain of that moment doesn’t blow up in everyone’s face every day, it definitely will. Carla is not immune to minor relapses.

To the point where you lose confidence and become more involved?

I think what happened to him changed him and maybe forced him to let go of certain things. However, its character will not change radically. It’s just not past its prime. In my opinion, if he is more detached at the moment, he should come back sooner or later.

Since the beginning of the school year, Carla and Rose’s relationship has been particularly strained. Finding out that Rose is his biological mother didn’t help matters. However, we were able to observe a particularly moving beginning of rapprochement during Carla’s miscarriage.

What can we expect during the last holiday of the year, which is generally good for the family?

As Carla ends up spending the holidays at the Institute to take part in the preparation of the Christmas meal, she and Rose will have to rub shoulders as they cross paths. Let’s see what this leads to.

Either way, Carla’s parents want to come over for Christmas, and Rose is suspicious. They’re quite protective of her, so they don’t look kindly on Rose’s rather troubled past… While Carla could use a little break, she’ll have to stay with the Brigade in the end. Christmas finds himself in the midst of tension between his adoptive parents and Rose. This end of the year can’t be easy for Carla.

We’ve seen it in recent days: After they met, Jim (Loan Becmont) and Jasmine (Zoe Severin) couldn’t stand each other and yet, love is in the air now. Could something be going on between Carla and Jim, who also haven’t given each other gifts since the school year started?

It’s true that it’s special between Jim and Carla because there was once a huge amount of sexual tension between them, but it seems to have evaporated, leaving only room for their extremely heated and aggressive relationship. I’m not saying it’s impossible for that tension to return, but there’s no way they’ll be around each other more for Christmas.

With what’s happened to her now, we imagine Carla isn’t in the mood for a love story anymore…

Yes, I think the Christmas priority for Carla is to digest the news first and get the Christmas brigade’s mind set. After that, there will undoubtedly come a time when she wants to restore the femininity that has been destroyed by what she has experienced. But all this will happen slowly.

How are the shoots going? Berenice Tannenberg and Dembo Camilonicknamed Berenice and Suleimani in Everything starts hereWith whom has Carla spent most of her time since the beginning of the school year at the institute?

It’s going really, really well, it’s really great to shoot together, but also more broadly with all the actors. It is truly a family and supportive atmosphere that prevails on the ITC set. We’re glad to be there and you feel it. We are very lucky.

This is your first lead role on screen. What do you remember from the first months of filming?

I’d say I discovered the South and what it’s like to shoot away from home, which isn’t much. I also remember how many meetings I had. It’s incredible how many people are on the setEverything starts here. And then, I don’t forget how lucky I am to be able to shoot so much, with different directors, and therefore try a lot of things and improve quickly. I’m really growing there.
