When the snowflakes start falling at the end of the year, Dune 2 will be conspicuous by its absence in all of these FY2023 reviews. And for good reason: the release of Denis Villeneuve’s feature film has been pushed back to February 28. The strike of actors and screenwriters, which would prevent the promotion as planned.
Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and Chan (Zendaya) will meet you over two months to discover the rest of their adventures. Which gives you plenty of time to (re)watch the previous film, which was released in September 2021 here. And Warner has good news on the subject: the feature film will be released in French cinemas on February 7, three weeks before the sequel arrives.
Enough to land a booster shot under the best of circumstances and boost its score at the French box office, which so far stands at 3,165,270 viewers. Accumulation that made this premiere of the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel the fourth biggest success of 2021 in our cinemas. In front of everyone on Stage 2 and behind the Encanto Trio, No Time to Die, Spider-Man is No Way Home.
To find out if the sequel manages to do better, head to the theaters on February 28. And three weeks before (re)watching the previous episode, which marked Paul Atreides’ first steps on his path as one of the galaxy’s chosen.
