A teaser of the full-length film “Cheburashka” has been released, which will appear in cinemas on the first day of next year. According to the plot, Cheburashka is a creature that lives in an orange grove in a distant country, one day he is brought to a small city by the sea, where he meets an uncommunicative old man. Sergei Garmash played the angry gardener Gennady, and Elena Yakovleva played the director of the chocolate factory Rimma, in whom many recognize the features of Shapoklyak. Also in the film were Fedor Dobronravov and Polina Maksimova. Cheburashka, on the other hand, is recreated in the film using live CG-graphics and motion capture technology.
The film was directed by Dmitry Dyachenko. It was he who shot such domestic hits as “What Men Talk About”, “Radio Day” and the fantasy franchise “The Last Hero”. Dmitry also worked on the series “Kitchen”, “Hotel Eleon”.
To begin with, I would like to thank all the actors of the project, with whom we went through really difficult shooting, – said the director. – Now they are completed, and editing is already underway, ahead is writing music, CG graphics. It turns out a very sincere and funny story in which Cheburashka is visually incredibly similar to an animated character familiar and beloved by everyone since childhood. But his character is a little different – he is more modern, energetic, lively. Perhaps even more fun. I hope the audience will like this film, it will fall into their very hearts, like many of our other projects.
Filming began last year in Sochi, and ended in June in the Moscow region. Among the filming locations are Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk, Arboretum park, seafront, Ordzhonikidze sanatorium, orange groves.
