According to the administration, the presence of fireworks in the sand and water does not present any risk for swimmers, who however “should not take the artifacts with them”, it warns.

The places where the ferries have been installed have been authorized and defined by the Port Authority, based on the tide table, the availability of submarine cables and underwater drains. The city hall announced last Thursday that the entire facility will be equipped with “tugboats to ensure the safety of boats” during the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The ferry installed in the Tupi neighborhood was one of five ships loaded with fire for the New Year’s Eve party in Praia Grande. The coastal city of Sao Paulo, which has 22 kilometers of coastline, promised a night with 15 minutes of fireworks displays, including musical performances in 10 arenas around the city.
