What is Unbreakable about?
The story no longer seems as original as it did in 2000: David Dunn (Bruce Willis) is an everyman and a nobody. However, he is the only one to survive a very serious train accident in which all the other people involved die, more than 130 people. Only David Dunn didn’t suffer a single scratch.
This not only confuses you but also makes you suspicious. Especially when he gradually notices strange changes in himself and is tricked into believing he is a superhero by Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson). Elijah is more or less the opposite of Bruce Willis’ character and suffers from a brittle bone disease.
The special thing about the story is that David Dunn doesn’t want to be anything special. He suffers from his superpowers and wants nothing more than to be nobody and not stand out in the crowd. However, his powers mean that he is denied a normal life, which causes serious problems for the reluctant hero.
