Jung Gal-Hee, a devoted secretary, works for Do Min-Ik, a seemingly ungrateful and demanding director of one of South Korea’s largest media companies. After a traumatic experience, he often fires his secretaries after only a year of work. and Jung Gal-Hee is running out of time.
Luckily for Jung Gal-Hee, her boss suffers from face blindness – a condition characterized by the inability to recognize faces, regardless of vision – which makes it much easier for her to lead a double life, pretending to be her former boss Veronica Park.

This 2019 drama follows the development of Gal-Hee and Min-Ik’s relationship, but not without its fair share of secrets, lies, and, of course, drama. “The Secret Life of My Secretary” has only one season with 16 60-minute episodes, available to watch on Netflix.
Played by Jin Ki-Joo, Jung Gal-Hee works hard to maintain the house and take care of her younger siblings after her mother’s death. Losing their job would mean that her brother, who is visually impaired, and her sister, who is about to start university, would have to make do without money. All this responsibility and pressure frustrates Gal-Hee, but she comes up with a plan to avoid becoming unemployed.
On the same day that Do Min-Ik, played by Kim Young-Kwang, plans to fire Gal-Hee, he has an accident and becomes face blind, his secretary then becomes the only person whose face he can still recognize.

Meanwhile, Min-Ik’s mother is trying to arrange a wedding for her son. The suitor is Veronica Park (Kim Jae-Kyung), an eccentric businesswoman who employed Jung Gal-Hee. However, she Veronica is not very interested in Min-Ik and, in fact, she starts flirting with Min-Ik’s childhood best friend, Ki Dae-Joo (Koo Ja-Sung).
Seeing this as an opportunity, Gal-Hee begins pretending to be Veronica around Min-Ik, and they eventually develop romantic feelings for each other. This relationship, however, is doomed to conflict, as it is based on a lie.
