In the United States, the film came in second after Wonka: it grossed $19.5 million, while the prequel reached $23.9 million over the weekend of December 29-31. In this case, Comcore data shows that Brazilians prefer the aquatic hero to the chocolate factory. Aquaman 2 dethroned its rival in Christmas week, grossing more than R$11.6 million.
New numbers from ComScore show that the total box office in Brazil this week was R$33.36 million. Worldwide, the sequel reached $255.4 million.
