Brazil had a current account deficit of $1.6 billion in November, higher than expected

Brazil recorded a current account deficit of $1.6 billion in November, with the accumulated negative balance over 12 months equal to 1.56% of gross domestic product, the Central Bank said on Wednesday.

According to a Reuters poll of experts, a negative balance of $400 million was expected for November.

In the month, direct investment in the country reached $7.8 billion, exceeding the $3.95 trillion forecast by the survey.
