With Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, FIFPro announces the finalists of the 2023 team

On the list there are Argentinian and Portuguese together with three Brazilians

The World Footballers’ Union, FIFPro, announced on Wednesday (3) the finalists of the 2023 men’s team. With three Brazilians in the list, the 11 players of the ideal world team will be revealed on January 15, during the awards ceremony The Best of FIFA.

Among the finalists are the Brazilians Ederson, of Manchester City, Vini Jr and Éder Militão, of Real Madrid. Even outside of European football, the 23 players include Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

28 thousand players around the world are participating in the vote. Among the finalists are 23 players, judged based on their performances between December 19, 2022 and August 20, 2023. This ideal team is the only global award decided exclusively by athletes.

At the end the goalkeeper, the three defenders, the three midfielders and the three attackers with the most votes will be chosen. Finally, the last place will go to the outfield player with the most total votes.
