Gerard Butler: The 300 star will reprise one of his most famous roles

A familiar face appears in the live-action adaptation of the DreamWorks Animation franchise, Dragons. Indeed, according to Deadline , Gerard Butler, who voiced the stoic father known as “Rough,” Harold in the original VO films, is reprising the role this time around in live action. But he’s not the only one who’s back: Dean DeBlois, the director of the animated franchise, will sign his first live-action film. He will also write the screenplay based on Cressida Cowell’s books.

However, young Mason Thames (For All Mankind, Black Phone) and Nico Parker (The Last Of Us, Dumbo) were cast as Harold and Astrid. The studio opted for new faces here, as the actors who previously voiced the English characters, Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera, are now much older than the latter.
