Bia Haddad is the fifth favorite in the Australian title race and will make her main draw debut against a player from the qualifiers. Moving forward, Bia awaits the winner of the duel between former world number 1, Czech Karolina Pliskova and local Ajla Tomjlanovic.
In a possible quarter-final, Bia Haddad could face the North American Jessica Pegula, seeded two, who debuts with a bye in the first round. In the semi-final, Bia’s opponent could be the fourth favourite, the Czech Barbora Krejcikova, who will also make her debut against a tennis player who came out of the qualifiers and in the round of 16 she could face the former world number 1, the German Angelique Kerber, who is returning from the circuit after maternity leave and makes her debut in Adelaide against the Russian Daria Kasatkina.
At the top of the group is the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, fourth in the WTA, also making her debut and awaiting the winner of the clash between the Italian Jasmine Paolini and a qualified tennis player.
