CBF communications director Rodrigo Paiva falls ill when Zagallo wakes up; he is fine

During the tributes to the iconic coach of Brazilian team and the only four-time world champion, Rodrigo Paiva, felt ill and had an episode of low blood pressure, which caused him to faint. The situation aroused concern among those present, who promptly contacted the local health services.

Health workers intervened promptly, providing first aid to the director of the CBF. He was rescued and received treatment outside the building. Fortunately Rodrigo Paiva is well and is currently in good health. He only fainted, but was supported and cared for by a doctor in the ambulance outside the CBF.

According to the report of Estadao at the scene, the reason for the fainting was a drop in blood pressure and hypoglycemia. Paiva has already woken up and speaks normally saying that he is fine. He should be back in action today too.

Zagallo died last Friday night due to multiple organ failure. The legendary player and coach had been hospitalized since December 26 in Barra da Tijuca. Rodrigo Paiva lived with Zagallo for more than a decade and wrote an analysis of Velho Lobo for Estadão.
