Ending 2023 on a high note, the last week of the year saw two major premieres that boosted national cinema: Killer Mamonas: The Movie AND My sister and I. According to data from Abraplex (Brazilian Association of Film Exhibition Companies of Multiplex Operators), the films occupied 62% of the country’s cinemas and, together, collected more than R$8 million.
If the three pillars of the sector – distributors, producers and exhibitors – are involved in technical discussions and if the films on display interest the general public, we can, in fact, leverage national production and reach levels never seen before.

please note it Killer Mamonas: The Movie had the largest opening for a domestic film since the pandemic began in 2020. Yep My sister and I won the best national debut of 2023.
