After playing Elvis Presley in “Priscilla”, Jacob Elordi will play another cultural icon: Frankenstein’s monster in an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic directed by Guillermo del Toro (“The Shape of Water”).
Netflix confirmed the cast of the production in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Elordi will replace Andrew Garfield (“Spider-Man: No Way Home”), which he negotiated, but did not reach an agreement with the production. The other actors who were negotiating have closed their participation, including Oscar Isaac (“Moon Knight”) and Mia Goth (“X – The Mark of Death”).
In addition to them, Christoph Waltz (“007 Against Spectre”) and Felix Kammerer (“All Quiet on the Front”) have been confirmed. But the cast should also include Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth”), Lars Mikkelsen (“Ahsoka”) and David Bradley (“Game of Thrones”).
Del Toro has been working on the “Frankenstein” project for some time. The production is an old dream of the director. However, it is not known whether the story will be a direct adaptation of the book or a modern version, set in the present day.
There is no premiere date yet.
