The light, hard foam remains solid, while the original unrestored paintwork is in excellent condition, with only subtle flaking in small areas. One of the laser cannons exhibits a slight wobble, while the laser cannon tips constructed with a single scratch are loose. The Piro X-wing was designed to be attached to a C-bracket that had a hole in the rear of the fuselage or hanging from a cable during firing. At the top of the fuselage there are several small holes connected to the model cable that hangs. The piece comes with a custom aluminum stand that supports the model via a fuselage, as well as a wooden shipping crate.

News of the model’s sale comes nearly a month after the death of Colin Cantwell, the concept artist who created the X-Wing movie for spaceships. He was 90 years old.
