The Higher Electoral Court (TSE) will modify the party affiliation system to strengthen security and prevent fraud. Now you will need to go through a second factor of authentication via the e-Título.
The change was announced on Saturday the 13th, shortly after the TSE called the Federal Police (PF) to investigate a possible fraud in the affiliation of president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to the Liberal Party (PL), party of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
The fraud was carried out using the account of Daniela Leite and Aguiar, PL’s lawyer. It is not yet known whether she made the change or whether her data was used inappropriately.
According to the TSE, the new double authentication system will be available from the beginning of February. Until then, the party affiliation system, Filia, will not be available.
“All people who manage Filia via password will also use the e-Titulo to confirm access to the system. To do this, these users will have to have their biometric data registered with the Electoral Tribunal,” explains the court.
And the TSE adds: “Therefore, when accessing Filia to enter the data of a new member, the party representative, in addition to using the access password, will have to enter the information that will be requested on the system screen and will have to be confirmed via the Election Justice Enforcement.”
