Veteran actress Ellen Barken will appear in one of the episodes of the upcoming “Poker Face” series, a production in development for the Peacock streaming service.
With this, Barkin returns to the series two years after leaving TNT’s “Animal Kingdom”, in which she played Janine “Smurf” Cody, matriarch of a crime family for four seasons.
The actress joins the likes of Natasha Lyonne, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Chloë Sevigny, Dascha Polanco, Lil Rel Howery, Adrien Brody, Stephanie Hsu, Benjamin Bratt and David Castañeda, already confirmed in the cast.
Document information remains confidential. What is known is that “Poker Face” will accompany a policewoman in an attempt to solve the murders in each episode.
The production marks director Rian Johnson (of “Knives and Secrets” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”) debut in television productions. In addition to creating the series, Johnson is also the writer, director and executive producer of the attraction.
Without a scheduled preview date, the production has ten confirmed episodes.
